Cara Dilute :
1 vial = 250mg/20ml
Dose 2.5 - 15mcg/kg/min
Dilution (single strength) :
1. Amount of drug (mg) = 3 x weight (kg) = a
2. Amount of drug (ml) = a x 20 = b

3. Dilute b (ml) with NS/D5%, up to 50ml
4. Final concentration (mg/ml) : a/50
** max concentration = 5mg/ml
Contoh :
Mr Abu has become hypotensive, Doktor order dobutamine infusion to be run at a rate of 5mcg/kg/min
Berat pesakit : 75kg
Cara kira (single strenght) :
1. Amount of drug (mg) = 3 x 75kg = 225mg
2. Amount of drug (ml) = 225mg x 20ml = 18ml
250mg
3. Dilute 18ml dalam 50ml D5% / NS (dalam syringe)
4. Final concentration = 225mg/50ml = 4.5mg/ml
5. 1mcg/kg/min = 1ml/Hr
5mcg/kg/min = 5ml/Hr
